Construction vehicles like dump trucks are always idling. Continuous idling generates very high exhaust temperatures, which can negatively impact the health and well-being of people in the vicinity of the exhaust stream. In addition, the heat infiltrates into the operator cabin and causes high heat conditions, unacceptable operator discomfort, and threatens worker safety as well as standard safety compliance.
With the Q-Shield™ product, we manufacture high-grade thermal insulation solutions for construction equipment and vehicles. As shown in the photo, this particular jacket is an easy to install, 16 mm (0.63″) thick lace-on cover that fits neatly around the exhaust elements. This jacket features our four-layer Q-Shield™ technology, and once the thermal protection jacket was installed, exhaust temperatures dropped from 600 ºC (1112 ºF) to 90 ºC (194 ºF). The operator cabin is comfortable for the drivers and workers around the vehicle are not subject to discomfort or injury from the overheated exhaust.
Each thermal insulation blanket or jacket that we manufacture is custom fit. The products control the radiant heat as well as provide personal protection. Removable and reusable, we construct our covers from premium quality insulation materials that are durable and long-lasting. For the construction vehicle market, we manufacture a range of solutions that in addition to exhaust system insulation includes turbo shields and covers, firewall and floorboard insulation, and heat control products for air intake conduits and manifolds.
